Battlefield 1943 is to use Dice’s Frostbite Gaming Engine |

With the announcement of EA/DICE’s Battlefield 1943 came the revelation that it would be using DICE’s Frostbite engine. So what does this mean for the rest of use, firstly for those familiar with Battlefield Bad Company and it’s graphics, you would have already seen Frostbite in action. However as the Frostbite gaming engine is said to upgrade as new games are released we can expect to see, a slight improvement to that of Bad Company. Below is a look at Bad Company on an Xbox 360 (thanks to Team Xbox):
When comparing it with the first trailer for Battlefield 1943 you can see an overall improvement in the engine (although the trailer is likely to have been filmed via the computer version). So what does this Frostbite engine mean to the average gamer? Put simply a better looking and playable game that is available on consoles and personal computer. |
